Character History:

Ian Armitage was the son of John Carpenter and Eleanor Armitage. Twin brother of Maggie Carpenter and older half brother of Mark Carpenter.

Ian grew up believing that he was the son of Guy Armitage. Ian came to town to meet Maggie Carpenter who was with Eleanor at the time of her death. He was looking for a locket that his mother had always worn around her neck. Maggie didn't have the locket, but when she and Ian eventually confronted her father, John Carpenter, about it he returned the locket, but it was empty.

After John's death, Maggie and Ian went searching for the secret that who to reveal to them he died. Their search lead them to New Orleans to Ian's mother's house. There they learned that Maggie and Ian were twins, their father was Bishop Carpenter and their mother was Eleanor Armitage. Ian was overjoyed to find his sister and to learn that he was not related to Guy, but he decided to keep it a secret from Guy.

Ian settled into live in and Llanview after Guy's death and got close to Maggie and begun dating Kelly Cramer. Sadly, Ian died in a plane crash. Ian left a large inheritance to Kelly and the rest of the estate went to Maggie.
